Comments Needed

The National Minimum Training Guidelines Committee is ready to vet the following documents within the 9-1-1 community. The committee, working since late 2014, is ready for member comment.

All Texas NENA members have the opportunity to review these documents and make comments. The deadline for submitting comments is midnight on March 17, 2016.

Free Training Class!

Texas NENA is offering a free training class entitled "The Healthy Dispatcher: De-Stress and Get More Me Time".

The class will be held March 9, 2016 from 8:00am to 5:00pm at the Smith County Emergency Operations Center. The address can be found below:

2016 Texas NENA Award Nominations

The 2016 Texas NENA Award nominations will be open on January 1 through February 15, 2016. If you know of someone who has gone above and beyond in their area of expertise, consider nominating them for an award! Visit our awards nomination page to submit your nomination!

Call for Nominations

The Texas Chapter of NENA has opened nominations for the Executive Board Members. Nominations will be open until Monday, February 15, 2016 at 5:00pm CST.

Nominees must be eligible to hold the office nominated for, in accordance with Article VII, Section 3. A nominee is only eligible to seek election for one office. If an individual is nominated for multiple offices, he/she will be required to choose one office for which he/she will seek election. The following positions are open:

Vice-President

This requires a three (3) year commitment (one as Vice-President, one as President, and one as Past President). Nominees must be a Chapter member in good standing and must have held another Chapter elected office for a minimum of one year to be eligible for the Vice-President position. Regional Coordinators

This requires a two (2) year commitment. Nominees must reside within the region they are nominated to represent. They must be a Chapter member in good standing.

The 2016 Regions open for nominations are: North, Central, and Panhandle. To learn more, download the job description

Treasurer

This requires a three (3) year term. Nominees must be a Chapter member in good standing. To learn more, download the job description

NENA Center Manager Certification Program

NENA's Center Manager Certification Program (CMCP) is designed to equip recently hired, newly promoted, and aspiring PSAP and 9-1-1 Authority managers and Supervisors with the tools needed to effectively manage their agency through a rigorous 40-hour course of lecture and lab-based education.
