Responsibilities include: answering incoming 9-1-1 and non-emergency phone lines; processing incoming information while simultaneously performing dispatch functions for Police, Fire and EMS by means of a computer aided dispatch system (CAD).
Requirements:
Must have at least one year of Public Safety Dispatching Experience. The Walker County Public Safety Communications Center is the central communications / public safety answering point for the City of Huntsville and County of Walker. We provide E911 and dispatch services for all public safety agencies in our jurisdiction except for the Sam Houston State University (SHSU) Police Department.
