Executive Director
The Henderson County 9-1-1 District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Executive Director. The Henderson County 9-1-1 District is a special purpose political subdivision providing Emergency Telephone service to the 80,000 residents of Henderson County. The District is governed by a five member Board appointed by its participating jurisdictions.
Summary:
The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of the Henderson County 9-1-1 District, and is responsible for the overall management and operation of the emergency communications district. The Executive Director reports directly to a five-member board of managers. The District operates in a two person, non-smoking office in Athens, Texas.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience. Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to Henderson County.
Compensation:
The starting salary for the Henderson County 9-1-1 District Executive Director will be in the range of $50,000 to $65,000, depending on qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package will be provided.

Description:
$10.248/hour $21,390.72/annual - The purpose of this position is to answer emergency and non-emergency multiple lines, gather information, answer questions, and transfer calls to dispatch, the appropriate units, departments or agencies. This is accomplished by answering incoming phones calls, gathering information from callers, entering computerized information, researching general information, transferring calls to dispatch channels, and completing routine general office duties. Additional duties include sending out requested information,
giving directions, filing, and submitting inquiries through established databases.
Qualifications:
This is a training position with progressive growth potential to Public Dispatch Safety Dispatcher. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.
Special Requirements:
Employees of this class must possess a valid Texas Class C driver’s license and the ability to type at a rate of 40 words per minute, and pass other clerical battery tests.
